Portraits of dancers in their own homes.
I began this project in 2012, shortly after moving to NYC after college and long before covid. While in college I had a large apartment and access to unlimited free studio space which made it easy to photograph dancers. But once I got to NYC, I was squeezed into a tiny apartment with virtually zero income and no access to ultra expensive studio space. So I decided to start photographing dancers in their own homes.
In 2015 I posted some of the photos to Bored Panda and literally became an overnight sensation. I woke up to a dozen emails from multiple media outlets all wanting to feature my work. I was even honored as the featured artist for an international dance festival held in Poland the following year. It may have only been fifteen minutes, but it was fun while it lasted.
